Health Services
We have a Health Services Assistant who supports student health needs. Our health office provides a serene and comfortable space for students to receive care when needed.

Disinfecting & Sanitizing:
• Surfaces are disinfected with Stabilized Aqueous Ozone or Melaleuca Sol-U-Guard.
• Surfaces are disinfected daily and high-touch surfaces are sanitized at least twice daily.
Cleaning:
• For general cleaning purposes Hand in Hand uses Melaleuca products.
To ensure the safety off all children, our summer programming is peanut and tree nut free. We ask that all snacks and lunch brought by children do not contain peanuts or tree nuts.
*Our kitchen is nut-free but may still serve food that gives cross-contamination warnings on the label (e.g. "may contain..." or "produced in a facility that also produces...")
• Providing basic first aid and emergency response services
• Communicating school health concerns to parents, including communicable disease notices and education
• Maintaining health records
• Developing Individual Child Care Program Plan (ICCPP) or Emergency Care Plan (ECP) for individuals, when needed
• Supporting the implementation of individualized care plans and providing staff education
• Administering prescription and non-prescription medication as authorized by parent and physician
• Providing a space to rest and recover from physical ailments and big emotions
• Providing immediate hands-on care for health concerns

We offer a support system for children, teachers, and families by providing qualified staff and a dedicated space uniquely designed to meet children's needs.

Jennifer Johnson Handle With Care Specialist

Handle with Care is a program that gives academic and social support, as well as helping with emotional and behavioral regulation.
Handle with Care staff work to maximize student success: offering a place where students are supported with the main goal of returning to the classroom ready to engage.
To give children a safe place to regulate their bodies, so they can successfully engage in class.
Although Highcroft does not offer a special needs program, we do provide a student support program called, "Handle with Care." This program provides support for the social/emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students.
• Writing and implementing student support plans
• Providing materials to assist in regulation and learning
• Equipping students, teachers, and parents with tools and resources
• Providing sensory and gross motor breaks
• Assisting in self-regulation
• Communicating with parents, teachers, the school district, and outside services
• Coordinating with the school district and/or outside services
The Wayzata Campus partners with student support services to meet the needs of students.
The following frequently service students on campus:
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Therapy
• Tutoring
*Student support services are funded by the parents.
• Drop-in care: A student who occasionally needs to visit HWC to support regulation or for academic support.
• Patterned care: A student who has a greater need for support may visit daily or weekly to help them be successful at school.
Work to regulate emotions - supporting student's emotions so they can peacefully return to class.
Work to calm the body - sensory or muscle movement to calm the nervous system so they are ready to engage in the classroom and with other students.
Work to complete classroom assignments - Providing an alternative space to focus on classroom work or to have a support staff assistance with work completion.
